RAIN Newsletter Launches New Website, Re-brands as RAIN News

Dec. 11, 2013: RAIN: Radio and Internet Newsletter, the preeminent source of information and commentary about the future of radio and streaming audio, re-launches today as RAIN News. RAIN was founded in 1999 by Kurt Hanson, founder/CEO of AccuRadio, the pioneering Internet radio platform. The launch of RAIN News occurs on a redesigned website (www.rainnews.com), and marks the start of a new era in which RAIN advances its reputation as the leading trade publication for the online audio industry.

The new RAIN News site features a frequently updated stream of news and insight on the fast-changing online audio industry. The renowned RAIN Newsletter, a daily email package of news, information and original analysis, will continue as a crucial touchstone for thousands of readers who rely on its progressive reporting and commentary. Kurt Hanson’s blog, widely read for its unique industry perspectives, will also continue as a key component of the RAIN experience.

“Today marks an exciting milestone in the history of RAIN, and the intent is to make a valuable publication even better for our readers,” said Brad Hill, managing editor of RAIN News. “This is a tremendously exciting era for Internet radio brands and their consumers. RAIN keeps a steady, forward-looking view which both documents and anticipates how we listen to music and audio.”

“RAIN has been writing about and helping lead the future of radio for more than a decade now,” said Hanson. “This is the fourth generation of the RAIN website — and clearly the best yet. I hope it will encourage discussions among our readers and take us to a new level of value to the industry.”

“This new site offers a user friendly design that enables us to expand our coverage of the industry during a crucial time when online audio has moved from being a niche medium to mass appeal,” said Jennifer Lane, president and ceo of RAIN Enterprises.
