Podtrac released its monthly podcast publisher rankings. The list shows the top Podtrac clients by unique monthly audience in the U.S., although it also shares the global unique streams and downloads for each publisher. After several months of little change to the order, September has a slight shake-up.
American Public Media made the list for the first time, clocking in at No. 7 with a U.S. audience of 1.325 million monthly uniques. According to the release, APM’s “recent efforts to co-ordinate the placement of the Podtrac re-direct in all shows resulted in their inclusion on the September ranking.”
The entries at the top of the ranking stayed constant from past months. NPR still dominates at No. 1 with 8.5 million monthly uniques, followed by WNYC Studios, This American Life/Serial, HowStuffWorks, and Radiotopia.
Last month, Podtrac released a ranking of individual shows to supplement its publisher information.
