Panoply announces new sales VP and deal with Macmillan

Panoply has hired a new vice president of sales. Ken Lagana joins the podcast company from a position as senior vice president of global sales and marketing at CBS Digital Media. At Panoply, he will be responsible for leading the growth of the business’ ad insertion technology, Megaphone Targeted Marketing.

In addition, Panoply recently announced a partnership with the publisher Macmillan. The deal will see Macmillan’s show Steal the Stars joining the list of podcasts on the Megaphone platform and using the MTM service for monetization. Steal the Stars is a scripted audio drama produced by Gideon Media and Tor Labs, two parties from the sci-fi/fantasy imprint Tor Books.

“We’re thrilled to be extending our reach into the space with this new opportunity to work with Panoply,” said Kathy Doyle, Macmillan’s vice president of podcasting. “We’re excited about the technology advances they’ve made with their platform, enabling us to offer up audience-based inventory while continuing to leverage the highly personal touch of live, host-read ads.”
