LG announces first smart speaker, featuring Google Assistant

LG has released a new smart speaker with Google Assistant integration. The LG ThinQ is LG’s first in the premium smart speaker niche. It uses Meridian Audio technology and offers high resolution audio for services that support lossless listening. Design-wise, it has the same tall, cylindrical shape as a Sonos One or Amazon Echo.

The LG Thinq will formally debut at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas in January, but the tech company shared the news today. The press release details the full LG speaker lineup for CES. We can expect several more smart speaker and voice-controlled announcements from other tech businesses as the convention nears.
