Kobalt app joins the ranks of new rights and revenue management tools

Kobalt logo canvasKobalt debuted a new app for its publishing clients that offers a real-time view at revenue. It includes a feed for scrolling through a client’s top 100 music earnings, comparisons across quarters, and data about different rights types and geographic territories. It also has YouTube-specific information and tracking for synch opportunities. For now, the app from the publisher and royalty collection service is only on iOS, with a planned launch for Android in the future.

Rights management companies are a big business now as more artists, songwriters, and publishers seek information about the details of where and how their payments are coming from. Media and entertainment platforms from YouTube to Facebook have been offering new ways for creatives to control where their material is and how they get paid for it.
