iHeartRadio tops reader’s choice for music in Adweek’s Hot List

iheartradio canvasThe best-of lists continued today with an installment from Adweek. The magazine polled its readers on the top apps of the year for a range of industries, and iHeartRadio was chosen as the Hottest Music App of 2014. iHeart secured 44% of the votes to top the list. Spotify came in second with 31.9% and Pandora ranked third with 21.3%. This marks the second year in a row that iHeartRadio was the reader’s choice for music apps.

Interestingly, Pandora was Adweek’s own selection for the top music app. It was possibly the online radio platform’s explorations into advertising that gave it the edge for this ad-centric publication; Adweek highlighted Pandora’s forays into Sponsored Listening and brand-affiliated concert series.
