iHeartRadio debuts The Daily Dive, joining ranks of daily news podcasts

iHeartRadio is releasing a daily news podcast, joining a niche space in audio that is becoming more popular with listeners and publishers. The Daily Dive will have new 15 minute episodes every weekday at 6 a.m. Eastern. iHeartMedia producer, writer, and editor Oscar Ramirez will host the program. The Daily Dive made its debut last week. Each episode features Ramirez delving into the top news topics and news narratives of the day. You can listen to the show by streaming or by download.

Several audio publishers now offer a daily news show. NPR, The New York Times, and Vox Media have each invested in the talent and infrastructure to create a podcast every weekday. Interest in the format seems high among listeners. In the March 2018 ranker from Podtrac, The Daily from The New York Times and Up First from NPR were the No. 2 and No. 3 podcasts by U.S. unique monthly audience.
