Drake’s newest album, Views, has achieved a new milestone in the streaming space. It is the first album to reach 1 billion streams on Apple Music. The rapper shared the news with two posts on Instagram showing a plaque from the music service.
Views was an Apple Music exclusive for two weeks when it dropped this spring. In addition to the music, Views recently received a companion short film called Please Forgive Me soundtracked with songs from the album. The video is reportedly only getting released on Apple Music. Apple has been getting more involved in both guiding artist-driven distribution choices and producing original video. In addition to its work with Drake, the company was also the initial destination for Frank Ocean’s new album Blonde and its companion video Endless.
