Book publisher Macmillan announces fall podcast lineup

Many legacy media organizations have hopped on the podcasting bandwagon as the audio format’s popularity has grown in recent years. One such company is book publisher Macmillan. Macmillan Podcasts has a decade of experience in developing and distributing audio shows, and the division just announced its fall show lineup. The four shows are represented by Midroll Media.

“Our authors are brimming with incredible stories and insights to share with the world,” said Kathy Doyle, Vice President of Podcasting at Macmillan. “Whether it’s fiction or nonfiction, their stories aren’t bound by a single medium but instead thrive when told in a variety of ways. Over the past decade, our team has come to understand the intimacy of on-demand audio. We’re thrilled to connect authors with their fans in a format with so much untapped potential.”

Here are the fall podcasts from Macmillan:

Feminasty: Hosted by Kate Harding and Samhita Mukhopadhyay, the co-editors of the Nasty Women anthology, this show covers current events, U.S. politics, and resistance.

Rossen to the Rescue: This show complements the book of the same title by Jeff Rossen of NBC’s TOday Show.

When to Jump: A show hosted by Mike Lewis asking when people should take risks to pursue their dreams. Sheryl Sandberg and Arianna Huffington guest in the first episode.

Steal the Stars: This fictional podcast is a sci-fi audio drama from author Mac Rogers. The fall episodes are a continuation of the 14-part series.
