audioBoom inks first distribution deal in India

audioBoom has entered a distribution deal to bring some of its shows to Jukebox, the audio entertainment operation from India-based ticketing platform BookMyShow. As a result of the deal, several audioBoom podcasts will be made available on Jukebox for Indian listeners, including Audiogyan, Dakaar, Desi Outsiders, Josh Talks, MnM Storyteller, The Bollywood Project, The Editor’s Podcast, This Day in Music Radio and Official UEFA Champions League. This deal will also include new, original podcasts produced exclusively for BookMyShow. Those shows include I Almost Knew That and Ctrl Alt Win Podcast. The arrangement brings audio content across news, politics, culture, comedy, entertainment, sports, and games to Jukebox listeners.

“The relationship with BookMyShow is part of audioBoom’s ongoing effort to provide our podcast partners with more distribution options,” said Ruth Fitzsimons, audioBoom’s SVP International Operations & Content Partnerships. “The production of new podcasts exclusively for BookMyShow aligns with our launch of original content in the UK and the US.”

“Jukebox has been designed to cater to the needs of audio entertainment seekers like never before,” said Aditya Kuber, AVP-Audio Entertainment of BookMyShow. “We believe that Talk Radio, more commonly known as Podcasts, as a category has tremendous potential and we are working towards building a complete ecosystem around it. Our association with audioBoom will allow Jukebox listeners access to a host of original as well as licensed non-music audio content.”
