Following this deal, Saavn users will receive access to podcasts from AudioBoom’s roster. Shows covered by the alliance include Undisclosed, The Comedy Score, and Hip Hop Saved My Life with Romesh Ranganathan. The move is just the latest as Saavn expands beyond music to add more multimedia entertainment to its programming.

“This is another step in Saavn’s journey to grow beyond music,” said Gaurav Wadhwa, Saavn’s vice president of originals and entertainment. “Partnering with AudioBoom has enabled us to continue to provide exciting audio shows to our consumers across sports, true crime and entertainment.” The company added two new original audio shows last week.

Saavn is based in New York but specializes in Indian audiences. It first made waves as a source of Hindi and Bollywood music, and is now available in more than 190 countries. India has also been a site for expansion for AudioBoom, which started the year entering the market via a partnership with Eros International.

“With Saavn’s help we’ll be able to monetize and distribute our top podcasts and on-demand audio content, reaching the millions of listeners who don’t use iTunes and Google Play,” said Aditya Kuber, AudioBoom’s head of India operations.
