Amazon makes a country music hire

Kelly Rich canvasAmazon is continuing the talent grab for its music operations. The latest hire is Kelly Rich, who will be senior label relations manager for Nashville. In this capacity, she will be focused on building connections within the country music genre. Most recently, Rich was senior vice president of sales, marketing and interactive for Big Machine (aka Taylor Swift’s label).

In just the past week, this is the third big hire for Amazon Music. Alex Luke joined as the company’s new global head of programming and content strategy, and Jason Carter arrives from the BBC to take on a director role. Since the announcement of Amazon Music Unlimited and its multiple tier options last year, the tech company has been gathering steam to contend in the increasingly crowded on-demand streaming space.
